Fürth 2035+ Mobility Plan

“The online participation with Senf in Fürth was a complete success - over 2000 contributions, clearly displayed on the interactive map and perfectly integrated into our participation strategy thanks to the intuitive use and evaluation.”
With the "Fürth 2035+ Mobility Plan", the City of Fürth is developing a forward-looking strategy for sustainable urban mobility. Citizens were actively engaged through two digital participation phases and a public mobility forum. Senf provided an accessible, modular platform that enabled the use of interactive maps and surveys as central tools in the process.
What is the Fürth 2035+ Mobility Plan About?
The project aims to develop a shared vision and concrete measures for Fürth's future mobility – people-centered, climate-aligned, and multimodal. It is led by the City of Fürth’s Department of Urban Planning, in collaboration with PTV Transport Consult, DialogWerke, and Burkhard Horn. Citizens were included at several stages: two online participation phases, a public forum with around 150 residents, and youth engagement in schools. All public feedback directly informed the strategic framework and action plan.
Participation in Phases – Digital and On-Site
The participation process followed a structured, multi-phase approach. During the first online phase (Dec 2023 – Jan 2024), citizens shared challenges and ideas via an interactive map – resulting in over 2,100 contributions, 1,462 comments, and 7,163 likes. In the second phase (Sept 2024), participants evaluated and prioritized proposed mobility measures. Digital activities were complemented by an in-person mobility forum, expert interviews, and school outreach formats. Senf’s combined use of mapping and survey tools enabled a broad, inclusive, and structured public dialogue.
How Senf Supported Mobility Planning in Fürth
Senf served as the central digital participation platform – with several modules deployed in a thematic and time-coordinated way:
- Interactive Map (Dialog Map) – Over 2,100 contributions on mobility challenges, ideas, and favorite locations
- Map-based Survey – Evaluation of proposed measures and current services
- Info Page – Public-facing hub for key documents, background information, and contact points
Digital Participation as a Driver of Change
Senf played a key role in delivering broad, accessible, and structured participation throughout the “Fürth 2035+” mobility planning process. The high level of engagement reflects strong public interest in shaping the future of mobility. All insights now feed into the visioning and implementation phases. Senf proved to be a flexible, multi-phase, and effective foundation for civic participation in long-term urban development.
